We hope to see you at the celebration in September! Loyally, Danielle Gaudino '21 Chapter President Last semester, we spent time learning more about ourselves and others by attending workshops and having important conversations about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We hosted a Narcan training, attended a suicide prevention training, and completed Kaleidoscope, Headquarter's new educational program. We are continuing to educate ourselves and have open spaces for our members' lived experiences. Our executive board members attended two different AXΩ conferences in Indiana, where they created connections and learned about chapters across the U.S. We ended the semester celebrating a fifth-place win at our Greek life dance competition, Variety Show, which helped raise money for The LunchBox Ohio. We also held our successful sisterhood retreat, where we reflected on our semester and adventured at a local ropes course. In April, we raised over $2,000 through our fundraiser, Cookie Dough with A-Chi-O, to support CHOICES. We also had a marvelous Real. Strong. Women. weekend where we celebrated womanhood and the importance of uplifting one another across generations. Our members were able to connect to our core value of empowerment and share the importance of our chapter with their Real. Strong. Woman., whether it was their mother, sister, grandmother, or best friend! In February, we rented a table at the Ohio Union to educate students about healthy relationships and spread educational resources about domestic/intimate partner violence. We volunteered at CHOICES, the local domestic violence shelter, where we helped prepare meals, provide childcare, and organize fun events throughout the semester. A lpha Omicron started off 2023 working hard to recruit new members for our growing chapter! After countless hours and long weekends, we welcomed 58 Real. Strong. Women. to our home on East 15th Avenue. We celebrated with a Taylor Swift dance party, pastel balloons and streamers, and glitter hairspray while taking lots of pictures. After our new members met their new friends and formed deeper connections with older members, the Big/Little process began. Our reveal was celebrated as blankets were dropped and our youngest members were welcomed with open arms to their new families within our big family. Big/little sister reveal day! Our families keep growing and growing! One of our proudest moments in Spring 2023, our Variety Show Dance Team put in so much work into their performance and finished 5th in the competition! Bid Day festivities celebrating the spring 2023 new member class!
