Letter, sisters!
LAUNCHING LYRE LETTER
This is a new, collaborative communication effort
from the Alpha Omicron collegiate chapter, local
house corporation, and Alpha Iota Alpha alumnae
chapter! Alpha Chi Omega has had an impact on
each of us—from meaningful late-night chats on
the Big Green Couch to roommates we've stayed
in touch with and shared life's joys and hardest
sorrows, to volunteers we've met as advisors
helping the collegiate chapter.
Whatever your reason for joining Alpha Chi
Omega, we are glad to have you as a part of
our lifelong bond and want to make sure our
sisterhood is still present in your world.
We are working with Pennington & Company to
bring exciting updates on a regular basis to keep
alumnae informed about and connected with
Alpha Omicron. You'll receive two editions of this
newsletter each year.
KEEPING IN TOUCH
AND UPDATED
We also hope you recently received a request to
update your contact information. Please fill that
out and return it to Pennington as you are able;
updated info helps ensure our communications,
news, and ways to connect with our youngest
sisters make their way to you.
Feel welcome to share any updates and news with
us by emailing info@axocolumbus.com—we want
to learn about your life and accomplishments,
both big and small. Be sure to check future Lyre
Letters to see them published!
CELEBRATING 100 YEARS AT
THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
Eight founding members helped establish the
chapter on September 14, 1923, as the second
chapter of Alpha Chi Omega in the state of Ohio
and the 38th collegiate chapter of our sisterhood.
According to the January 1924 issue of The Lyre,
guests at the installation banquet, held at Hotel
Chittenden, enjoyed tables decorated in red
and green, singing favorite Alpha Chi Omega
songs, the reading of "a long list of telegrams
from chapters and national officers," and musical
numbers. Alpha Omicron has initiated 2,224
women since our founding, including three
alumnae initiates.
Join us in Columbus from September 15-17 to
mark this momentous milestone. We will host
events throughout the weekend, concluding with
a Centennial Brunch at The Fawcett Center
at The Ohio State University with National
President Lynne Herndon as our special guest.
Please visit our website at axocolumbus.com/
centennial-events to learn about each event and
register. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
