The system will detect, monitor and provide real-time truck parking availability information to commer- cial truck drivers, dispatchers and other interested motorists. PROJECT AREA The project is located at four rest ar- eas on Interstate 10. • Ehrenberg Rest Area serves traffi c in both directions on I-10 between mileposts 4 and 5. This rest area is on the border of California, 4 miles east of Blythe. The nearest commu- nity is Quartzsite, located about 13 miles to the east. • Bouse Wash Rest Area serves traffi c in both directions on I-10 at milepost 53. This rest area is ap- proximately 100 miles west of Phoe- nix. The nearest large community is Vicksburg located about 7 miles to the west. • Texas Canyon Rest Area serves traffi c in both directions on I-10 be- tween mileposts 320 and 321. This rest area is about 70 miles east of Tucson. The nearest large commu- nity is Benson about 20 miles to the west and Willcox about 20 miles to the east. • San Simon Rest Area serves traffi c in both directions on I-10 at mile- post 388. This southeastern rest area is located on the border of New Mexico. The nearest large commu- nity is Lordsburg New Mexico about 20 miles to the east and San Simon about 9 miles to the west. PROJECT ELEMENTS • Installation of CCTV cameras and radar detection systems • Installation of Dynamic Parking Availability Signs and solar power equipment • Integration of software applica- tions for smartphone and web- based services • Connecting to existing electrical services and other related work PROJECT SCHEDULE The project is scheduled to begin fall 2023 with completion antici- pated in summer 2024. Schedules are subject to change be- cause of weather and other unfore- seen situations. WHAT TO EXPECT ADOT will provide advanced notice of restrictions and closures for I-10 rest areas. A listing of all state highway rest areas is available at azdot.gov/busi- ness/highway-maintenance/rest- areas/rest-area-locations. Drivers are asked to obey posted speed limits and traffi c control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equip- ment.
