THE MU MUSE | 4 B rother James Alan Pahl '79 entered Chapter Eternal unexpectedly in 2017. After moving back to West Viginia, Jimmy was active with the Charleston alumni and spent many weekends assisting Mu Mu Chapter with its Ritual Exemplification. Before his death, he established two scholarships through the WVU Foundation with a donation of more than $50,000. Two James Alan Pahl Scholarships will now be presented, one per semester, to a new initiate who embodies The Spirit of Sigma Chi and exhibits great leadership potential as outlined by criteria laid out by Brother Pahl and an interview conducted by an alumni committee. A handsome certificate and a check for $1,000 comprise the award. Pictured is Alex Bartone '26 from Pittsburgh (Mt. The chapter brought back the decades-old tradition of Derby Days and raised over $11,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation in just three days! This could not have been possible without the help of Vice President Jake Wallace '25, Lucas Collender '24, and Quaestor Logan Rolfe '24. The chapter also hosted a Polar Plunge event involving several local business owners that raised over $4,000 for the local Ronald McDonald House. In April, our chapter was able to attend our first Spring Formal in over three years. Thanks to Max Jannes '25 and Jason Cole '23, the chapter and their dates enjoyed a weekend in Toronto, Canada. Additionally, Mu Mu has kept the position of IIFC president in-house, thanks to Will Wittstadt '23. We are proud that our chapter continues to provide leadership and carve the path for all unaffiliated and affiliated Greek life organizations on campus. The chapter has taken many strides to better operations and the standing of our organization to achieve our goal of receiving a Peterson Award, including reaching a record-high 3.2 GPA. With the unbelievable help of our House Corporation and local alumni, this goal is becoming closer to a reality. On behalf of all active brothers, I would like to thank everyone who has supported us in being the best our chapter can be in the ever-changing times around us.
