W hile the Clovia experience is more than the bricks of the chapter house, our home at 2067 Carter Avenue has played a significant role in the development of our sisterhood and shared values since we moved in in 1989. This project hopes to address our immediate needs in creating a welcoming and functional environment for our active members. OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME Throughout our history at the U, tradition, sincerity, and warmth have been a central part of our sisterhood. Our goal is to maintain that tradition while creating spaces that accommodate the needs of modern college students for our next 90 years. Our 109-year-old house has substantial issues that must be addressed. The cost of upkeep on our current home is reaching the point of diminishing returns. Accessibility is a major concern, as are basic functions such as energy efficiency, electrical capacity, and other safety features like a modern sprinkler system. Perhaps more than anything, the needs of modern-day college students have changed drastically, and our home is not laid out or properly equipped to meet those requirements. With a new space, we can continue making the best better. PAGE 3 UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA OUR CHALLENGES AND NEEDS
