Page 2 W ith the end of another successful semester, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the outstanding accomplishments of our Fraternity. This semester has been particularly impressive, with numerous successes in academics, philanthropy, campus involvement, and events. Academics have always been a top priority for our Chapter, and this semester was no exception. We proudly announce that Washington Alpha holds the top GPA on Greek Row at a 3.42. We are also thrilled to report that brothers Luke Deschenes' 24 and Maccabee Werndorf '24 have been elected as the new president and vice president of the Associated Students of WSU. Luke and Mac are set to develop a more inclusive and exciting culture on campus. They plan to tackle the transportation crisis, increase awareness and safety around drugs, and improve the vibrancy at WSU. Go get 'em, boys! Regarding philanthropy, our Chapter organized a March Madness event that was a huge success. We were able to raise considerable funds for our chosen charity, Meals on Wheels. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our brothers, especially the philanthropy committee. Our members are also greatly dedicated to keeping the streets of Pullman and Greek Row clean. Because of our hard work, we have been awarded the "Best Fraternity Lawn" on Greek Row. Lastly, we are excited to announce that this year is our chance to win the Golden Buchanan Cup. With our strong academic performance, philanthropy efforts, and campus involvement, we believe that we have a strong chance of coming out on top. Washington Alpha is sending eight brothers to San Antonio, Texas, to hopefully accept the coveted trophy! Our executive board is hopeful for another successful year when we return in the fall. They have been working hard to uphold the prestige that has been built before us, and they are using that past success as a springboard to achieve greater things in the future. To remind the Chapter of our greatness, the executive board carefully crafted a motto to rehearse at every Chapter meeting: "Reimagine a culture that builds a foundation for Chapter success and personal fulfillment." Washington Alpha wants to reshape the quickly fizzling culture of Greek life into one of responsibility, achievement, and improvement. We want our members to leave WSU as better men than they entered, and by following this motto, we can achieve just that. Brother Ross Tello '24 and Dr. Pinkleton, dean of the Murrow College of Communication, at a special commencement ceremony. Sadly, Ross passed away on Sunday, May 21, after living with cancer. He will forever be remembered as an inspiration to our chapter, and we are so proud of what he achieved. A dedication to his memory will be included in the fall newsletter.
