The highly anticipated golf tournament marked the first official alumni event for Florida Alpha since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. This gathering brought together a few dozen undergraduate brothers and alumni from across the country and the State of Florida to have a great time on the course, all while supporting our undergraduate brothers. The funds raised through the tournament went to the Florida Alpha Educational Foundation, which helps support the educational spaces our undergraduate brothers rely on at our beloved Chapter House. The Foundation also sponsors our brothers' participation in learning and leadership development opportunities, such as Carlson and Conclave, and provides them with scholarships and funding to support their academic pursuits. The Florida Alpha Classic kicked off at 8:30 a.m. and went on until lunchtime, with a networking happy hour at The Swamp Restaurant following the tournament. From the very first tee-off, it was clear that some players were bringing their best, which made for a day of thrilling golf action. After a great morning at the course, the Honesty Award went to undergraduates Timothy Hodges '24, James Bautista '25, Damian Blanco '25, and Dillon Parker '25, with the trophy for Longest Drive going to Ryan Feocco '25. Todd Bonlarron '93 took home the trophy for Longest Putt (17.5'), and his team, which included Manny Vargas '07, Andy Greer '96, and Jason Hill '93, took home the trophy for first place. We want to give a huge thanks to all who supported and participated in this tournament. S ince the first Tragos Quest to Greece in the summer of 2001, nearly 350 SigEp undergraduates have had their lives changed on this powerful journey. Exploring sites from Athens to Olympia, brothers from across the country delve into Greek culture as they reflect upon the origins of SigEp's values and the Balanced Man ideal. Parker Rossignol '24 was one of 18 scholars selected to attend the 2023 Tragos Quest to Greece, held June 22 through July 2. This year's scholars were chosen from 261 applicants and are an impressive group of leaders in their campus communities. These scholars will be joined by five alumni mentors, who will support, challenge, and guide the brothers to not only be the best version of themselves, but to also encourage others to do the same. Florida Alpha is proud to have sent five members in previous years: Kyle Jones '03, Michael B. Eisen '11, Patrick L. Goodrich '18, Scott Gann '21, and Brady Alexander '22. Congratulations and good luck, Parker! Want to congratulate Parker yourself? Email learningcommunity@floridasigep.com.
