PAGE 4 "A lpha Mu taught me leadership skills, how to be a true friend, and the importance of supporting other women," Whitney Wilt Paulowsky '96 said. When Whitney joined, several women from her hometown took her under their wings and made Kappa Delta feel like home; for the next four years, Alpha Mu continued to be her home away from home. "I laughed and cried in the walls of the old Kappa Delta Chapter House, and I've laughed and cried in the walls of our new home." Whitney cherishes her memories of singing on the steps of the old house during recruitment and sneaking out the back steps during Monday formal dinners. When she ran for president of the Ole Miss student body, all of her sisters supported her. She was also honored to be inducted into the 2000 Ole Miss Hall of Fame. REMEMBERING KILEY Whitney was five years older than her sister, Kiley Wilt '01, so the only time they attended school together was when Whitney was in fifth grade and Kiley was in kindergarten. When Kiley decided to attend Ole Miss, Whitney hoped it would bring a lifetime of memories together. Unfortunately, Kiley passed away from an accident as an undergraduate. In 2006, the old house's Chapter room was dedicated to Kiley. The ceremony was marked by the dedication of a bronze angel in her memory. When the new Chapter House was built, the statue was gifted to Whitney's mother. It now stands in their home where they are reminded of her daily. Whitney sponsored the skylight in the new house to continue to keep Kiley's memory alive. "Kiley was a free spirit in every sense of the word—carefree, independent, sensitive, and courageous," she shared. "She was well known for her love of life, radiant smile, and loyalty as a friend. The skylight is such a wonderful sign of her spirit and brings light to the Kappa Delta house as she did." LIFE TODAY After college, Whitney started working for Anderson Consulting, then Accenture, as a change management consultant. She spent 14 years at Accenture in both the Atlanta, Georgia, and St. Charles, Illinois, offices. During her last year, she was the chief of staff for the chief learning officer and led the Accenture Atlanta office women's community focused on elevating women across her firm. She then served a five-year term on the Emerging Leaders Board at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, concentrating on board membership. During her last year, she served as the board membership chairman. For the past four years, she has worked in Undergraduate Admissions at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and this summer, she plans to launch her own consulting firm focused on helping families and high schoolers with the college admissions process. Whitney is thankful for finding her closest friends at Kappa Delta. Her sisters were bridesmaids in her wedding, and they still go on annual trips together. Whitney and her husband, Ryan, live in Atlanta, Georgia, with their three children, Mary Kiley (16), Will (13), and Lane (7). In her free time, Whitney loves to garden. This year marks 20 years since Kiley's car accident, and Whitney planted 100 of her favorite white tulips in her memory. They will bloom this spring around what would have been her 40th birthday.
