Kappa Delta PAGE 3 A lpha Mu is incredibly proud of the sisters who are involved with campus athletics. When it comes to the cheer team and the Rebelettes, Kappa Delta women are not only abundant but imperative to the teams. The Chapter is thrilled to have four Rebelettes this school year: Kimber Spelts '21, Ashley Duke '22, Riley Olive '20, and senior captain, Ally Hopper '19. These four shine as they work with the small group of women selected to be Rebelettes each year. Kappa Delta also has heavy involvement in the selected group of women chosen to represent the university as cheerleaders. We have 11 amazing cheerleaders on this year's team: Sydney Avery '22, Emma Allen '22, Claudia Shelton '22, Neely Makinster '21, Emma Terry '22, Elle Pettitt '22, Bella Valdez '20, Mallie Reid '20, Chamberlyn Grubbs '19, Hannah Jenkins '19, and Yaya Sala '19. These outstanding women all dedicate so much time and effort to being student athletes who thrive in both their academic and athletic endeavors. Alpha Mu is also ecstatic to announce that we won the Sigma Nu Charity Bowl for the second consecutive year! Led by members of the cheer team and the Rebelettes, our sisters worked tirelessly to perfect their cheer for the competition, which led to another fantastic performance by Kappa Delta. We are beyond pleased with the wonderful talent represented through the cheer and dance teams on campus. A lpha Mu has two philanthropies that we absolutely adore: Girl Scouts of America and Prevent Child Abuse America. We continually look for ways to support and be a part of these organizations because our relationship with them is of utmost value to us. We are proud to work closely with many Girl Scout troops throughout the year to organize different events. We recently hosted our Color Me Confident and Pinkies Up event. Many troops from Oxford and surrounding areas gathered in the KD dining room for afternoons full of coloring, etiquette lessons, dance competitions, trivia games, treats, and giggles! It is such a gift to be able to develop friendships with the Girl Scouts and talk with them about what it means to strive to grow up to be a confident young woman. Seeing their faces when they learn something new, earn a new badge, or sell a box of those delicious cookies is absolutely priceless and we would not trade it for the world! This year, to support Prevent Child Abuse America, Kappa Delta organized a two-day golf tournament at the Ole Miss Golf Course. We called in our friends and family from all over to come enjoy some time on the course, and all proceeds went directly to PCAA. While we do not have a direct relationship with the children supported by PCAA, we confidently know that the money raised is supporting one of the most important causes in the world— the safety and health of children. Kappa Delta is incredibly blessed by both philanthropies and foresees an eternal future working with and supporting them.
