Phi Sigma Kappa 3 A YEAR OF CHANGE GROWTH AND ENGAGEMENT AT PHI SIGMA KAPPA A fter overcoming a challenging fall semester, Delta Triton is starting a new era in 2023. We brought in an associate class of 11 new members in the spring, giving this semester a heavy focus on brotherhood and philanthropy events. Our brotherhood chairman, Peyton Sandlin '24, planned several successful events, including a retreat to a Southern Indiana campground for a quality brotherhood weekend as well as a Mom's Day. Philanthropy Chairman Jeff Henn '24 also put in tremendous effort to increase chapter philanthropy. He organized our participation in Purdue's annual Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics. Delta Triton raised nearly $5,000, marking the event's largest donation total. Over the course of the semester, Jeff has helped us raise nearly $7,000 for the Special Olympics through numerous lemonade and hot chocolate stands; his efforts have certainly not gone unnoticed at Purdue. Through this new period for the chapter, we welcomed a new executive board. For the first time, the chapter moved its executive board terms to last throughout the calendar year as opposed to the academic year. The chapter also stepped up our alumni engagement this semester. The newly elected alumni relations chairman, Rowan Luppnow '25, coordinated a dinner event for actives and alumni. Everyone enjoyed an evening with a gourmet dinner, connecting with past and present generations of Delta Triton members. We look forward to making this a new tradition! Lastly, Delta Triton participated in the 66th Purdue Grand Prix. Driver Ayrton Houk '26 qualified in 11th and battled back to 17th after a first-lap multi-car crash. The chapter's Grand Prix team worked and maintained the kart for over a month to ensure any problems or malfunctions were properly managed. We are incredibly proud of our chapter's work throughout the year and look forward to another great school year this fall!
