Remodel The corporation board is grateful for all the alumnae who donated to our refurbishment efforts last year. Your generosity enabled the board to remodel the TV room and study room in the chapter house basement. New paint, barrel chairs for a reading nook, ceiling fans, and upholstery on the remaining furniture helped to update the rooms and integrate them into the ambience of the first floor. RepaiR Since the board spent $90,000 on updates and summer projects in 2022, we have more modest goals for this summer. Beyond the usual cleaning and check-ups that are performed during the summer, we will have the house director's suite repainted. The large ice machine in the kitchen has been repaired several times, so that might be replaced, along with one of the washing machines in the basement. Renovate The board's long-range plan is to renovate the north wing and east-facing side of the second floor. This project's original cost was estimated to be $500,000, but the significant inflation of prices for construction materials could easily increase this to $800,000. We will strive to continue providing beautiful accommodations for Xi's members while we plan for the future. We are assessing how to go about this. RepResent Part of our future planning is to seek alumnae who are willing to donate some time each month as a corporation board member to help with managing the chapter house. The only requirements are to be out of school for two years and to have a desire to keep the house attractive for future classes of Sigma Kappa sisters. Please consider working with us! We appreciate your help in the past and we look forward to seeing you at Xi!
