MUCH TO DO AT LSU O ur undergraduate AHs worked extremely hard, in and out of the classroom, to make fall 2022 our best semester yet at LSU. AC ADEMIC EXCELLENCE We had 115 Chapter members achieve a GPA over 3.75, and their hard work contributed to our chapter GPA of 3.45, earning Phi Mu the third-highest GPA down the row. Better yet, our new members had the highest GPA (3.51) of all new member classes. STAYING INVOLVED Within the LSU community, our members stay involved by holding positions in student government, Panhellenic Executive Council, and Dance Marathon Executive Board as well as many other clubs and organizations. We thoroughly enjoyed cheering on the Tigers with the rest of the student body every Saturday from our Phi Mu portion of the student section. 1ST PL ACE IN HOMECOMING For the Homecoming game against Ole Miss, we spent many hours creating and bringing to life our first-place Homecoming decorations, a pomped board that depicted Mike as lead guitar of Kiss! Louisiana Saturday nights hold an extremely special place in the hearts of two of our members, Ella Meyers '22 and Blair Saltzman '22, who have had the pleasure of being on the LSU Golden Girls dance team. HELPING OTHERS We hosted our highest fundraising philanthropy event to date, Phi Mu Man of the Year, and celebrated National Phi Mu Philanthropy Day in October by painting pumpkins with local miracle children. CELEBR ATING SISTERHOOD Our sisters enjoyed many fun nights filled with sisterhood events such as charMUterie boards, workout classes, and cake decorating with Eloise Market and Cakery, and we ended the year with our Chapter retreat at Civil Axe rowing. WELCOMING OUR NE WEST MEMBERS Our 104 new members enjoyed eight weeks of Phi program fun, including Big/Little sister reveal, Dreams Come True with Phi Mu retreat, and learning about Phi Mu Nationals and our Alpha Eta Chapter. ELEC TING OUR LEADERS Our members ended the semester with our new executive board installations as well as celebrating the election of our sweet Kennedy Logan '20 to LSU's Panhellenic Council as the Vice President of Public Relations! Yours in Our Bond, Virginia Dirks '20 President Left: This fall, we brought back the beloved Phi Mu Miracle Man of the Year Pageant! Philanthropy Chairman Kate Crochet '19 did a fantastic job raising money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. We laughed, sang, and enjoyed every minute! Even our miracle kids got to do a special performance. Right: We are so proud to say that Phi Mu placed first this year in the annual Homecoming board competition. We had some fun with this year's theme: "Welcome to the Jungle." Homecoming Chairmen Katherine Whatley '20 and Jade Vicknair '20 worked tirelessly to earn this title while rallying the rest of the Chapter's support. I didn't know many people in Greek life coming from such a small school, but the women I talked to—even on my first day—made me feel like I knew them my whole life. Coming back each day felt like a weight was lied off my shoulders, which was something I couldn't find in any of the other houses. e choice I made on pref night was a choice I will never regret. I love my newfound sisterhood, and I am forever grateful that I made the choice to go Phi Mu!" –Ellie Reaux '22 "Walking into Phi Mu the first day of recruitment, I immediately felt a sense of home. Like most women, I was very nervous going into recruitment, but the women of Phi Mu made me feel so loved and accepted. Everyone was and is so genuine and truly cares for one another. is sorority has given me the most genuine, authentic friendships and the best support system I could ever ask for of sisters who not only encourage me but also inspire me to be the best version of myself. I'm so blessed to be a part of such an amazing sisterhood and am forever grateful I chose Phi Mu!" –Natalie Russell '22 "I immediately felt this indescribable sense of love, camaraderie, and sisterhood from the women around me—something that I was really looking for in a sorority. I could tell these women genuinely have so much respect and compassion for one another, and it was a key aspect that immediately drew me into Phi Mu! From Bid Day to now, my feelings for Phi Mu have only grown stronger and have really solidified the fact that I have found my forever home at Phi Mu!" –Brooke Tillman '22 "As an out-of-state student, coming 1,800 miles and leaving all my family behind was incredibly intimidating. I went into the recruitment process blind, hoping to make a few friends. As soon as the doors to Phi Mu opened, I saw what felt like a million kind and smiling faces; it was almost like God was telling me this was where I needed to be. Every woman I met had a heart of gold and made me feel like family. I am so grateful for all my Phi Mu sisters and this amazing Chapter." –Gianna Vaccaro '22 2 Alpha Eta Chapter
