PAGE 3 UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA MORE SPACE FOR SISTERHOOD AND SAFETY Consider Suppor ng the House T heta Gamma is proud to be a standout chapter at the University of Oklahoma, but alumnae supporting our home at 1611 College is crucial to keeping us competitive. Recent redecoration efforts go a long way, though our house is due for major renovations so we can provide sisters a safe and spacious environment to fully enjoy their college experience. Our capital campaign is raising money to fund a few main projects for the house. First, we are aiming to build an addition to the facility, which will serve as an additional study area, and this new space would extend west from the current dining room. This room will be built to meet ICC-500 standards, which refers to the design and construction of storm shelters for protection from tornados and hurricanes. Here in Norman we see many storms with high winds. Having a safe place for members to shelter is essential in Oklahoma! Additionally, we hope to build a second story above that new study space that would provide additional bedrooms; a new president's room; extra study rooms; and additional bathrooms. Lastly, we have a goal to build additional first-floor bathrooms, an additional small snack kitchen, and a renovated food serving line with more space. The construction and resources for these projects all come with a high price tag, so all contributions are appreciated. More space in the house doesn't just help our young women—families and guests are also able to appreciate the extra space during family weekends. New additions would also provide extra space for hosting philanthropy events, so we can continue to give back to our community. This annual philanthropic event hosted by greater OKC-area Tri Delta alumnae includes an art auction benefiting the Tri Delta Children's Fund. All the artwork included at the event was created by children who are undergoing treatment or have been in treatment at the Jimmy Everest Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. Art With a Heart is more than just a fundraiser. Throughout the year, Tri Deltas host therapy days for the children to escape their day-to-day routine and create beautiful pieces of art. The event features these young artists and honors them along with their families. The children are the center of attention through the evening, not because of their illness, but because of their one-of-a-kind masterpieces. This year, we had over 45 artists create 50 pieces of art. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit OCCA (Oklahoma Children's Cancer Association), Camp Cavett, and the K Club.
