THE BEARCAT SIG Zeta Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Cincinnati V Spring 2023 Looking toward the front. Stairs to the lower level. Main living room looking toward library. New rear deck, pit, and roll-up doors. The Student of the Future ZETA PSI RISES TO NEW HEIGHTS T he Student of the Future—this phrase has been at the core of our discussions and planning over the last few years. Consider this: prior to the year 2000, a student brought an average of five electronic devices to school. Now, they have an average of more than 20! Cabled internet and telephone, radios, and desktop computers are obsolete. Today, there is greater emphasis on scholastics and an infrastructure to support this focus. Many classes are no longer held on campus. ere is also a focus on co-op internships that expose the student to the work environment and team-building experience. And, given some of the issues on campuses, students and parents are more concerned about safety than ever before. To stay focused on the expectations of the Student of the Future, nearly all fraternities and sororities at the University of Cincinnati have either built new houses or have major renovation projects. Also, we now compete with the university and other private housing initiatives with their own major renovation projects. We are excited that Zeta Psi has responded to these expectations and are well into our significant renovation—all progress and success due to the generous support of our alumni! Please know that our House Corporation, the Lincoln W. Pavey Educational Foundation, the construction committee, and the entire active chapter offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to those who have supported this worthy and necessary renovation! Without you, we would never meet the expectations of the Student of the Future. Over the next few months, the Zeta Psi 140: Leadership Lives Here campaign committee will reach out to alumni who have not yet made a gi to support the renovation project. We have a confirmed database of approximately 1,200 alumni, and 15.4% of the alumni have already made a gi; that is only 192 of our worthy alumni. So, we will be asking the remaining alumni to consider offering their support for this important renovation. Worthy Brother Steve Hauck '75 once said, "Sigma Chi will give you back tenfold what you put in." is is an opportunity to recognize what Sigma Chi gave you as a student and what it continues to give you as an alumnus. Please consider a pledge today by using the enclosed pledge card or visiting tinyurl.com/ ZetaPsi140Corporation. Together, we will build a worthwhile future for our Zeta Psi brotherhood.
