inaUgUral 12th Street Carnival On November 4, Beta Kappa, along with several other fraternities and sororities, hosted the first- ever 12th Street Carnival block philanthropy event. The carnival consisted of games, live music, and food in front of the fraternity and sorority houses on 12th Street in Boulder. We are proud to have helped raise approximately $7,000 for SafeHouse Denver, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving survivors of domestic violence and their children through both emergency shelters and non-residential counseling and advocacy. Fiji vS. Fiji Earlier this semester, two Beta Kappa flag football teams went head-to-head in the highest level of intramural competition that the University of Colorado offers. The A team, composed mostly of upperclassmen, took on the B team, made up of brothers from the Zeta class. The A team came into the week as heavy favorites, but in the end, they couldn't hold off the red-hot B team. Outstanding performances from star quarterback Lucas Castillo '25 and defensive lineman Colin O'Hara '25 helped propel the B team to its first victory of the season. A late touchdown catch by receiver Cameron Wheeler '24 iced the game, with B team winning 7-6. a neW Fiji aChievement UnloCked! Beta Kappa is excited to have new representation and leadership on the hill. Former Chapter President Mitch Crist '24 has stepped up as VP of external affairs for the Interfraternity Council on the Hill. We are excited to have one of our own representing Fiji at this level! During his term, Mitch's responsibilities will include overseeing all external operations involving local businesses and student organizations as well as representing IFC on the Hill as a member of Phi Gamma Delta. It is a new step for our Chapter, as this marks the first time a brother in Beta Kappa has held a position on the IFC executive board! reFleCting on SUCCeSSeS To close, I leave you with Mitch's final statement as president this fall: "As my term comes to an end, I want to express how grateful I am for this experience. This past year has been tremendously successful, and we appreciate all the undying support of our brotherhood—current and graduate brothers alike. We came together and focused on not only improving the internal operations of our brotherhood, but also extending our reach to the community that surrounds us. Despite our increased size from previous years, we as a brotherhood remained involved with incredible philanthropies and service events while also organizing a large-scale event that involved multiple fraternities and sororities from IFC on the Hill and the Panhellenic Association. Along with this, our scholarship remained strong in standing, as we placed fourth out of all fraternities on the Hill with a 3.06 cumulative GPA. I am beyond excited to be a part of a brotherhood that continues to center itself around its core values, especially when we have now reached a size where fraternities often neglect the importance of being bound together by shared virtue. I am excited to see where this next executive team will take us in the future." Perge!
