PAGE 4 PI KAPPA PHI • G A M M A L A M B DA C H A P T E R COMPETING IN A CHANGING ENVIRONMENT R olla's campus is growing, and significant improvements and new buildings have been added to campus in the last 10-15 years. Most of these houses have been well-maintained and are more presentable than ours; several fraternities have also either taken on major renovations or are currently in the process. Our existing chapter house is over 50 years old and is in desperate need of repair. A new house will be a major resource for recruitment and will help ensure the chapter remains a constant fixture for another 55 years. CURRENT HOUSE DIFFICULTIES • Minimal space for chapter members. • Maximum capacity is 20 brothers. • Outdated amenities for today's college student. COMPETITION Fraternity Housing • Lambda Chi Alpha • Kappa Sigma • Sigma Phi Epsilon MS&T Housing • University Commons (built in 2016) ◦ Apartment-style, 450-bed facility that houses students in primarily eight-person apartments. Each apartment has four bedrooms, a living room, a full kitchen, and two bathrooms. ◦ Utilizes the latest security technology by providing access to rooms via student ID card. • Residential Commons (2005 and 2007) ◦ Houses 550 students while offering single or double deluxe rooms with similar suite-style living to University Commons.
