Beef partly frozen is easier to slice. Place beef strips in food safe plastic bag or glass contaniner. Mix beef broth and next five ingredients. Reserve half for the sauce. Pour over beef strips. Cover and refrigerate 2 to 4 hours, turning beef frequently. Drain marinade and discard. Submissions will be accepted through Sept. 30. Twenty-one artists, group of artists or schools will be chosen to display original works of art. Individual artists with a limited body of work are encouraged to join with other artists to present a strong group exhibit. Local schools are urged to submit their portfolios. While there is limited space to showcase 3-dimensional artwork, feel free to submit freestanding art. A deck sale of great treasures will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 27 and 28 at the home of Cheri Smith, 350 Gilmore Road, Space 81, on both days with no early birds. A sign-up sheet was circulated for volunteers to price the items for Tuesday, Aug. 17 and Thursday, Aug. 19 and for helpers at the sale. Other business discussed at the meet- ing was the "State Fairs" which will replace the current "Area Recognition Days" held throughout the State of TOPS Chapters. Loretta Bloxham, Northern California area coordinator of Red Bluff said the dates and locations will be Napa on Sept. 11, Fortuna on Sept. 18, and Red Bluff on Sept. 25. The State Fairs will honor Blue Ribbon members, dis- play tables of the various TOPS Chapters, Best of Shows of KOPS, stuffed animals and gift basket raffles, midway games and skits. The Red Bluff State Fair will be at the Red Bluff Elks Lodge with check in at 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 25.
