Between lively Purdue football games and alumni weddings, weekends have been well-spent bonding and growing as a brotherhood. Fostering Spirituality University Lutheran Church remains a big part of the Chapter. Many brothers are lucky to have personal relationships with both Pastor DeBlick and honorary brother Pastor Herman. Through Bible study and Sunday services, Beta Chapter has been able to connect with God and is working to give back to University Lutheran as well. One such way is by hosting Come Hungry, an event in which brothers serve pizza to the other parishioners. Academic Excellence The Chapter's GPA bumped up from a 3.19 to a 3.22 this semester, which helped us advance in the Greek life rankings. We also landed in the top half of fraternities and well-above the average fraternity GPA of 3.05. With seven brothers on the Dean's List and 10 brothers earning semester honors, we're proud of our efforts and plan to build on this success. Philanthropy This semester, Beta Sigma Psi took a new approach to philanthropy by getting a dunk tank. We set the tank up during an Iowa game so sports fans could try to dunk the brothers. Almost every single brother took a turn in the dunk tank on a very cold November day. This resulted in over $600 for Habitat for Humanity. Campus Involvement Beta Chapter was a dominant force this semester as we worked together in various intramural sports. These included soccer, flag football, and volleyball, with a semi-final finish in volleyball. House Improvement The men at Beta Chapter love our Chapter House and continually work to improve it. We are very appreciative of the alumni who came back and helped paint the foyer and dining room. Thank you especially to all alumni who have donated their time or money, allowing us to get A/C and refinished showers this past year. A couple of actives have also taken it upon themselves to improve the basement with a repainted floor and new lighting. A project nearing its completion is the all- brothers room. What was once a glorified storage room is developing nicely into a hangout area. It's been a great semester with dedicated actives working toward developing an amazing future.
