Reimaging Our Relevancy Reimaging Our Relevancy W ith the support of alumnae for the last 100 years, our home in Columbus has provided members a space to gather, meet lifelong friends, and achieve academic goals. As the chapter grows and the house matures, the Alpha Omicron House Corporation wants to bring the house up to current standards while maintaining a premier living experience for all members. If we are to preserve the Alpha Omicron legacy, now is the time to invest in a living environment that allows our home to be competitive in a changing university atmosphere and gives members an opportunity to enhance our sisterhood. PAGE 3 | ALPHA CHI OMEGA Elevated Safety Elevated Safety Our home needs updates to ensure the safety and productivity of our members. However, there are many maintenance issues with our home. Our collegiate sisters have made the most of what they have, but we know they cannot keep this up forever. Significant infrastructure changes for security are needed to ensure our young women develop the lifelong bonds of sisterhood like we did. Modernization Modernization Our vision moving into the next century includes a house where all members can meet, study, eat, and socialize together. Our experience is rooted in the ability to learn and grow as women together. We need to ensure this is possible for future generations. We also want a facility alumnae feel proud to return to in Columbus. Functionality Functionality As of today, our chapter can no longer hold various chapter events/meetings in the house, host group study, or enjoy each other in the space. Although our collegians have found creative ways to spend time together, we know that this is not viable for the future. Without space to be together, our members are losing out on essential aspects of the AXO experience. Continued Competition Continued Competition Numerous sororities at OSU are planning updates to their facilities or have completed projects recently, including Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, and Kappa Kappa Gamma. We also need to consider the availability of on-campus facilities and off- campus apartments. Alpha Omicron is in constant competition with these entities, and we cannot allow Alpha Chi Omega to be left behind.
