W ith the arrival of the new year, excitement for Epsilon Beta's Centennial Celebration grows! Epsilon Beta is one of 181 Chapters of Chi Omega National, the largest women's sorority in the world, and was founded at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1923. Our Chi O alumnae have a lot to cheer about! This year, Epsilon Beta will commemorate 100 glorious years on UNC's campus. For a century, our Chapter has been loved and nurtured by outstanding alumnae leadership who have focused on preserving our legacy. Now, in 2023, Epsilon Beta will celebrate 100 years of intellectual, dedicated, goal-driven women who worked tirelessly to ensure Epsilon Beta's procurement of a home to call our own. Our founding sisters raised funds and invested wisely to proudly pay off our mortgage to own our Chapter House. Our founders built a rich history of excellence and achieved their goals. Today, Epsilon Beta is one of the few Chi Omega Chapters in the nation who owns their house and the property that surrounds it. This feat is a reminder of the debt we owe to our alumnae founders and the importance of preserving their financial investment. In the coming year, we will closely explore ways to preserve our Epsilon Beta legacy on campus. That Epsilon Beta legacy brings us to 100 years! Mark your calendars for our Centennial Celebration on November 3-4, 2023. Friday evening, our alumnae are invited to the Centennial Celebration party, which will be held in the Chancellors and Hill Ballrooms of the Carolina Inn. Saturday, all alumnae are invited to the Chi Omega Chapter House for tours and a picnic featuring Wilber's BBQ! Saturday, the Tar Heels will host the Campbell University football team in Kenan Stadium. Go Heels! Our website, epsilonbetacentennial.causevox.com, provides information regarding registration for hotels and will eventually provide information for Friday night's Centennial Celebration party, Saturday's barbecue, and a direct line to the Carolina Football Office to purchase football tickets. Keep checking the website as more information becomes available! We are excited for all our Chi Omega sisters to be together again in 2023! What to Expect from Epsilon Beta's Centennial "C heers to 20 and 40 years!" rang out at the Epsilon Beta Chapter House this past November! For decades, the graduating classes of Epsilon Beta have enjoyed the tremendous fun of reuniting in Chapel Hill to celebrate anniversaries with their Chi O sisters. The class of 1981, who had been forced to delay their reunion in 2021 due to COVID, gathered excitedly on November 18-19, 2022, to celebrate their 40th reunion!
