NOTES FROM MIZ KΔ PAGE 3 W e offered all Kappa Delta alumnae the opportunity to have a sleepover at our beloved 606 Rollins the last summer before our renovation. The response was incredible and three lucky groups of alumnae were able to make the timing work this past July. A familiar saying is, "You can't go home again." These Kappa Delta alumnae will change your mind about that! Jill Peery Neunabel '83 "It was a unique privilege to overnight at the Kappa Delta house this summer. As we gathered in each space of the house, countless memories of friendship, sisterhood, and even some shenanigans came flooding back to each of us! The bonds of sisterhood are as strong as ever, and the foundation was started in those years we lived in the house. And it goes without saying—the icing on the cake was Stan's chocolate cake!" Margaret Campbell Hick '83 "The sleepover was filled with so many emotions for me, from sheer happiness and thankfulness to sadness about the time that has passed and longing for those amazing years in the house! From the time we walked in the house, greeted by our pledge trainer, Cindy Mize, I felt right at home. Kappa Delta was home to me for four years—that's where I met my best friends for life, my friends I do life with, the same friends I sat next to in chapter meetings and danced next to at socials. Those were the same friends I slept in bunk beds with 40 years later, the same friends who sat around the dining room table (eating Stan's chocolate cake!), and the same friends I have made life memories with. The sleepover was magical, and somehow, we laughed till we cried and enjoyed reminiscing about those magical memories made within the walls of the ΚΔ house! Kristin Stahlheber Hogan '01 "All of us truly enjoyed our ΚΔ weekend stay. Our Kappa Delta stay enabled us to reconnect and relive many great memories. Columbia and the house continue to transform, but our memories of ΚΔ remain." Michelle Moore Russell '93 "The thing that stood out to me the most about our weekend at the house was how visceral of a sensory experience it was— spending a weekend being 22 again in the house that held us for four years. It looked the same. It smelled the same. It sounded the same, with the same women's laughter that rang through the halls 25 years ago. It was like traveling back in time. The emotions were truly overwhelming at times. I wish for every alumna to have that experience."
