KAPPA DELTA | UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI PAGE 2 Epsilon Iota had a busy and exciting fall semester! Returning from summer break to see our sisters and invite more women into our chapter is always such a rewarding time. This fall, we were ready to get back into the swing of things with several new sisterhood activities, philanthropy events, campus involvement opportunities, and the celebration of Kappa Delta's 125th anniversary. R EC R U I T M E N T A N D B I D DAY In August, we welcomed 80 new members! This is the largest pledge class we have had in a few years, and we couldn't be more excited. They are all bright, kind, ambitious women who seamlessly became a part of our sisterhood. To prepare for such a successful recruitment, we held a Spirit Week full of themed days and sisterhood retreats. A trip to Midway Golf and Games, a sunset yoga class, and a matching permanent jewelry pop-up shop were just a few activities we did to celebrate our sisterhood. Following Spirit Week and recruitment, we welcomed our new members with the Bid Day theme, "Lucky to Be a Kay Dee," which included lots of bright colors, rainbows and, of course, Lucky Charms! These 80 women are incredible and have already made such a positive impact on our chapter. P H I L A N T H R O PY This September, we hosted our Confidence Week to raise awareness and funds for Rainbow House and PCAA as well as promote confidence on campus. To kick the week off, we hosted a carnival for all the kids at Rainbow House. The day was full of games, prizes, and food! Throughout the week, we set up several booths to pass out popsicles, buttons, and candygrams to brighten students' days on their way to class. Thursday night, we had our late-night dinner, "Mac and Cheese with the KDs" with over 1,000 students joining us. This is one of our favorite weeks of the semester, as we get to spend time having fun together while supporting our philanthropies. H O M ECO M I N G A N D 1 2 5 T H A N N I V E R SA RY Homecoming has always been one the most beloved, anticipated times of the year, and this year was no exception! We were paired with the men of Theta Chi and our theme was The Flintstones. This year, we placed fifth overall and had so much fun participating in campus decorations, fling, the parade, and several service events, including Roaring for Rainbow House! It is always special to welcome alumnae home for the weekend and connect through stories and traditions over the years. On October 23, Kappa Delta celebrated its 125th anniversary. To celebrate, we hosted a brunch with Zeta Upsilon Chapter from Stephens College. We loved sharing time with each other and reflecting on the special bond Kappa Delta has given us. We feel so lucky to be a part of such a strong, empowering organization that continues to give us opportunity, friendship, and belonging. We are so grateful to have such incredible alumnae and truly appreciate all the support you have given us over the years. This upcoming year is such an exciting and special time, and we can't wait to share it with you!
