3 DTD THE CORDELT FIVE NEW FALL BROTHERS This fall, Beta Omicron Chapter worked hard to build upon the strong momentum of prior semesters. We are proud to have initiated five men of excellent character into our brotherhood. Each proved himself to embody our core principles throughout the recruitment process, and they are now ready to lend the chapter their talents. PLANNING FOR SPRING RECRUITMENT With the completion of initiation, the house has shifted its focus to the spring semester. The chapter recently hosted a casino night, organized by Recruitment Chairman Matthew Cabrera '23, with over a dozen potential new members in attendance. Our names list is ever growing, and plans for the next recruitment event to be hosted in the coming weeks are already underway. PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS While recruitment is the lifeblood of the fraternity, giving back to the community through our philanthropic efforts is also a top priority. This month, we partnered with the City of Ithaca to assist with the cleanup and maintenance of Stewart Park. Led by Philanthropy Chairman Noah Ziluck '24, brothers spent a day removing unwanted weeds and trash from the park to preserve the natural beauty of a favorite local hangout. Furthermore, a team of brothers competed in Cornell's Charity Flag Football tournament against other fraternities to benefit the Community Foundation of Tompkins County. HOMECOMING 2022 Outshining the chapter's other successes, the defining event of this semester was undoubtedly Homecoming. The last true Delt Homecoming was three long years ago in the fall of 2019. Not a single active brother living in the house had seen a true Delt Homecoming until this semester. Despite losing in the hard-fought alumni vs. actives game by a single touchdown, the chapter could not have been more excited to welcome back generations of Delts and their families for a weekend of festivities and celebration. So many people deserve to be thanked for executing a very successful Homecoming, but I'd especially like to thank Graham Seward '07, Andy Howlett '07, Michael Bonacum '10, Bryan Cuccioli '14, and Justin Hedin '10 from the House Corporation as well as Alumni and Brotherhood Chairman Chris Martin '24. THANK-YOUS We would like to thank all our alumni for their unwavering support and their dedication to the values of Delta Tau Delta. We owe a special thanks to Jack Thompson '73 for his long service as our chapter advisor and to our new chapter advisor, Philip Fargo '16, for his steadying influence around the house. It is only through the gracious spirit and continued guidance of our alumni that we are able to succeed as a model chapter at Cornell. STOP BY AND SEE US! If you find yourself in the Ithaca area, we encourage you to stop by for a visit. We would love the opportunity to connect with you, share stories of our time in the Shelter, receive advice, and share our vision for the future with you.
