Sigma Phi EPSilon PAGE 4 (Continued from page 2) Where We Are Going Our Quest for Buchanan Cup Our stretch goal is the Buchanan Cup application this year for a shot at the 2023 Conclave in San Antonio next summer. These things take time, but I am convinced that we have a very good shot, if we do the work, to return to Buchanan Cup status by Conclave 2025. While one semester does not represent a trend, we have made great progress—yet we are just getting started. We have a long way to go, and it is going to take all of us to accelerate the great work our young leaders and AVC have started. Here is what is on the list for the upcoming year: Partner with the Dean of Students to develop and host a SigEp learning community with, at minimum, three SigEp learning events each semester (available to all students). Programs include leadership skills, mental health, public speaking, and other life skills. Expand each of the Sigma, Phi, and Epsilon challenges of the Balanced Man Program to include more diverse programming that meets the needs of Kansas Beta. Develop and execute a brother mentor program for high performing juniors and seniors to develop a culture of giving while improving retention of older brothers by 80%. Work with Headquarters to develop and market a growth strategy and marketing campaign. Support and encourage members to apply for national leadership programs, including the Tragos Quest to Greece, Ruck Leadership Institute, Carlson Leadership Academy, Life After College, and Regional Director Development tracks. Implement a year-round recruitment program to find leaders from diverse backgrounds. Expand the mentor program to include all rising elected and appointed leaders in the Chapter. Make professional mentors available, aligned by career type, to all undergraduate brothers who want one. We hope to have 40 active alumni mentors by year-end. Help Us Succeed Now more than ever, we have the right undergraduate leaders in place to return our beloved Kansas Beta to the greatness we once enjoyed. No more excuses, no more blame, no more anger—I am simply taking responsibility for myself and the Fraternity I made an oath to uphold so many years ago. I am asking the same of you. The same decision to honor your commitment, to let go of past disappointment, and step up with your time, talent, and treasure. It doesn't take much to make a big difference in the lives of our young brothers. We have a spot for you that we can customize to meet your specific needs and provide you the opportunity to be a part of Kansas Beta's return to glory, a chance for you to honor your own Lifetime Responsibility of Brotherhood. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions and how you can help. Fraternally, Greg Pestinger '86 gpestinger@kykeoncoaching.com Living Out Our Lifetime Responsibility of Brotherhood
