PSI UPSILON 5 WILLIAM C. KERR SOCIETY BOARD MEMBERS ENSURING OUR LEGACY O ur investment in the future of the Xi will ensure the success of our Chapter and will promote a legacy upon which to build an even greater brotherhood. Today, perhaps more than ever, college fraternities play a relevant role in shaping the lives of students. The Xi provides a small-group, coeducational living environment that offers our undergraduate members a solid foundation for their education and also affords opportunities for high academic achievement and the development of leadership and social skills. The undergraduates have made a commitment to work hard in maintaining the programs and traditions that have benefited the lives of so many brothers over the years. Together with our active alumni brothers, the volunteer leadership of the newly created William C. Kerr Leadership and Historic Preservation Society Corporation is committed to this major undertaking, which will allow us to renovate our existing Chapter House and remain an environment that houses the best student leaders at Wesleyan University. This stage of our project requires assistance from a highly selective group of alumni—like you. We are working to identify brothers who have both the ability and interest to provide major assistance to the project. Remember that each of us benefited from the generosity, work, and sacrifice of those who went before us. We all enjoyed the comfort and brotherhood the Xi provided during our years at Wesleyan University. Now it is our turn to support the Xi and ensure that the same, wonderful experience is available to others. We urge your thoughtful consideration of this plan. With your support, the Xi will continue to provide a quality living environment that supports, nurtures, and builds outstanding young people with the skills and confidence to face an ever- changing world. The commitment we make today cannot be underestimated—it will have a far-reaching effect on the lives of our Xi Chapter brothers for the next 100 years and beyond. The William C. Kerr Leadership and Historic Preservation Society Corporation was formed in 2021 to support the preservation of the Xi Chapter House. As a 501(c)(3), the Kerr Society is able to accept charitable donations that are tax-deductible for federal tax purposes. In November 2022, ownership of the Chapter House was transferred from XiCo to the Kerr Society. In exchange for ownership of the Chapter House, the Kerr Society will undertake projects to preserve and protect 242 High Street. Day-to-day operations of the Xi remain unchanged.
