3 Bud Giffin '55 retired from practicing medicine in 2016 after 51 years. He now works full time for Christine Leogue of San Antonio, pro bono. Jim Breneman '64 is retired but occasionally does design consulting work. He remains active in his church, volunteers by doing income taxes for AARP, and serves on the planning commission for the City of Prairie Village, Kan., where he lives. He has six grandchildren of varying ages. Email: jbreneman41@gmail.com Arnold Sondergard '65 retired in 1999 from Hughes Aircraft Electronics and lives in Sun City Lincoln Hills, Calif. He is involved in various volunteer groups and enjoys golf, sports car and motorcycle clubs, and some traveling. Woody Woodward '66 lives in the mountains of Wilson, Wyo., and enjoys life, doing less fishing and hunting but more boating on Jackson Lake. His neighbor, Tyler Tomlen '22, is a freshman SAE at KSU. Email: woody@wyom.net Larry Weigel '68 trademarked the Medicare Coach Advisory Program, the first of its kind in the nation, and continues to work from home with his senior clients. His hobbies include music and gardening. Brad Smith '75 is happily retired in Gardner, Kan., and serves as treasurer and webmaster for the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the SAE Alumni Association. He is looking for someone to serve as assistant webmaster. Email: brad@dapkc.com Jack Ernst '76 knocked out four semesters (out of eight) toward a civil engineering degree at KSU from 2005 to 2019 while working full time in the evenings. He is now 66 and in good health. Jack works full time at Pelican Bay Foundation in Naples, Fla. He and his wife, Nancy, continue to raise and show Scottish terriers and English cocker spaniels in retirement. They enjoy good food and good wine as they get to travel a bit more. Kris James '86 plays professional tennis in Scottsdale, Ariz., continuing his career past his Big 8 Conference tennis days in college. He is the founding owner of ScottsdaleTennisLessons.com. Eric lives in Olathe, Kan. Email: eric@vresportspros.com CHAPTER ETERNAL Michael A. Dykstra '78 entered Chapter Eternal on February 3, 2022, at his home in Lakin, Kan. In December 2020, he retired as the Vice President of Kearny County Bank. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Jaycees. Mike loved to spend his time with his family. He enjoyed running, exercising, and watching football, especially the KC Chiefs and KSU.
