The executive council at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Game days in BDS are back! The leadership skills Stacey learned in Psi Chapter are useful nearly every day. On the personal side, she learned the importance of female friendships and how fulfilling it is to help her community. Professionally, she learned how to be a team player, to present herself to others, and to show herself in the best possible light. "As Chapter President, I learned how to manage and lead people from all different backgrounds—and to find solutions to many difficult challenges." All of this has served Stacey well at her family business, Inline Electric and Lighting. Stacey is the company's regional showroom manager, meaning she oversees the lighting showrooms in Pelham, Montgomery, and Auburn. Currently, she spends most of her time at the Pelham store, working with builders and designers in the greater Birmingham area to provide supplies for their construction and remodeling projects. Stacey began working for her dad's company part time in high school, inspiring her to pursue an interior design degree and an MBA before coming back full time. Stacey has happily served as Psi's philanthropy advisor since Lissa Handley Tyson '83 asked her to join five years ago. "It has been such a joy working with the girls in the house and helping them fight food insecurity in Tuscaloosa." She's honored to work with her fellow advisors in helping young women become leaders and is proud of every officer and committee she's been able to work with. "It is so great to see how amazing the chapter is doing and the positive presence they have on campus." That positivity has stuck Stacey and her Alpha Gam friends through the years. They all attended her wedding in April and were thrilled to attend Psi's centennial reunion party last fall. "We have done a few other reunions over the years, but [this article] is inspiring me to schedule another one!" Stacey and her husband, Patrick, live in Birmingham, where they enjoy trying local restaurants and spending time at Smith Lake. She also works with local organizations like the Junior League of Birmingham and the Glenwood Autism and Behavior Center. You can reach Stacey at slsummerville@gmail.com.
