Academics Closing out the 2021-22 school year, the chapter had a GPA of 3.20, ranking 13th among IFC chapters. "We've been doing grade checks for freshmen once a week and the active chapter every two weeks while also doing academic progress plans two times a month and working with people on academic probation," Scholarship Chairman Myles McClellan '20 shared. The chapter is striving for a 3.35 this term. Grades are looking good so far, so we hope to keep that trend going! Last year, Brothers Matt Kennedy '23, Jack Dillavou '24, and Wyatt Lindsey '24 were awarded a Bell Chapter Scholarship from the Sigma Chi Foundation. Derby Days Philanthropy Last spring, Brothers Brady Hogan '25 and Corbin Panther '25 helped us raise a new record of $30,000 for Huntsman Cancer Institute during our weeklong Derby Days philanthropy. Our gratitude goes to our 11 sorority partners who participated in events throughout the week and to our alumni brothers for their donations to help us achieve our goal. "Helping coordinate and execute Derby Days was such a special opportunity and a huge milestone for the chapter," Pro Consul Brady Hogan '21 said. "The week went very smoothly and was a great opportunity to connect Sigma Chi with other Greek organizations on campus. Overall, the week was a huge success, and hitting our all-time best donation amount was very special for our chapter." Membership Jack Dillavou '24, Logan Rosner '24, and Evan Ranallo '24 were responsible for recruiting 26 outstanding young men to Sigma Chi. With the help of the chapter and Magister Cole Fisher '24, we were able to successfully initiate all 26 men into our chapter on September 24. "It was an honor teaching these young men about our history of Sigma Chi and indoctrinating the seven standards while watching them grow as men during their pledgeship," Cole said. Homecoming Our partners this year were Alpha Sigma Phi and Sigma Kappa, and we were thrilled to see our plans turn into action. The theme was Once Upon a Dream, with the K-State theme being Wildcat Dreams. We had a great time constructing the float and participating in Pant the Chant and WRL. Staying Active With a flag football team, two ultimate frisbee teams, a soccer team, and three singles tennis competitors, our fraternity has had strong participation in intramural sports this fall. "With 15 freshmen competing, they are getting involved early with the house, we are very eager to see how they do this fall season in intramurals," Annotator Alex Schirk '25 said. Connecting with Others This fall, we were able to have a family day brunch and tailgate. Thanks go to our chef, Tori Johnson, for preparing a delicious breakfast, and to Sigma Chi Moms Club for providing snacks during the tailgate. On October 1, the undergraduate chapter was joined by our alumni brothers for an annual alumni tailgate. We always appreciate the opportunity to get to speak with our alumni and to thank them for all they have done for our chapter. Thanks to the amazing sororities, our Derby Days dance competition went off without a hitch. We are proud to welcome home our newly initiated fall 2022 pledge class.
