WELCOMING OUR NEW SISTERS! We kicked off the academic year by celebrating our newest pledge class, hosting the hottest Bid Day on the Hill with a firefighter theme, affectionately called Station 1345, after our beloved house address. New Member Educator Elle Schloegel '21 planned the whole event alongside our Bid Day team; they spent the entirety of recruitment planning, painting, and positioning all the stunning banners and decor! This celebration proved to be just what the doctor ordered after a stressful—but sisterhood focused—two weeks. From August 8-13, our Chapter was fully engaged in all the preparations for fall formal recruitment, from conversation workshops to song practice and everything in between. This year, the Sunday before recruitment week was designated as a rest day, which allowed for all our members to have a full day of relaxation and spending time with their sisters leading up to the week we spend all year planning for! Our fun-loving and fearless director of recruitment, Audrey Grabmeier '21, lead Lambda through an extraordinary recruitment week that was equally as special for the potential new members as our actives. With plenty of laughs, we wrapped up the week with 65 new members for our fall 2022 pledge class! I could not be more impressed with Audrey's commitment to her role, our Chapter's endurance throughout a few hard weeks, or how truly exceptional the new members we welcomed home on Bid Day are. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE In addition to recruitment, Lambda has many other areas to celebrate. Thanks to the hard work of our vice president, Bailey Wilson '21, our GPA rose in the spring 2022 semester to a 3.64. With the second-highest GPA of any other Panhellenic sorority on campus, we are equally proud of our consistently strong academic performance as we are looking forward to reclaiming our spot at the top of the Hill for GPA. Moreover, Lambda has been honored as a Chapter of Excellence by Chi Omega National Headquarters because of our high performance in our spring National Leadership Consultant visit. The award is in the main living room of our house, along with a letter of congratulations from Chi Omega HQ. AN EXCITING FUTURE With initiation approaching the weekend of October 20, the Chapter is looking forward to a full and fun fall here on Mount Oread. We will be slating new officers on November 13; although I am sad to move on from this role, I am even more excited to see the incredible things our Chapter will accomplish in the coming weeks, months, and years. Loyally in Chi Omega, Sadie Williams '20 President strengthening the sisterhood Actives Grow and Embrace the Bonds Welcoming home our new sisters is the highlight of our year. Lambda's sisterhood runs strong! With over 60 new members, Bid Day went off without a hitch.
