LAMBDA LOG 2 H ave you ever found a clothing item you absolutely loved but took one look at the price and put it back? Brooke Eichelberger Jensen '07 has been there too. She has always loved fashion and lifestyle and enjoyed reading blogs; however, she found that many items within the blogs were too expensive. "I became frustrated after constantly falling in love with fashion posts, only to find they would completely break the bank," Brooke said. "I created The Broke Brooke for lifestyle inspiration that is affordable and fun." Brooke's style is all things classic and feminine, and she loves high-low fashion. After having her children, Charleston (4) and William (1), her blog shifted to a family focus. Her posts are now mostly children- and mom-related. "My greatest joy is helping other moms find things for their kids," she shared. After Brooke had her first child, she knew she needed the flexibility of starting her own career, so she left her job as a CPA to follow her dream. What started as a passion project became a full-time career, and Brooke used the skills she learned in business school and Chi Omega to make it happen. "The biggest way Chi Omega has impacted my careers is by developing relationships," Brooke shared. "No matter what field you go into, learning how to foster relationships with both the people you work with and your clients will take you far!" In her career, Brooke has had the opportunity to connect and work with many amazing women-owned businesses over the years. Her social media has also connected her with people all over the world. The highlight of her career is bringing her passion of children's clothing and mommy and me styles to life with "The Broke Brooke Collection," a collaboration with Dillard's launching in 2024. Looking back at her Chi Omega days, Brooke knew it was the right place for her. She knew it was a place that valued friendship, scholarship, and service. She loved all the women she met from the first day of recruitment, and her pledge class sisters are still some of her best friends today. They even went on a recent trip together and had a blast catching up. "We have our own text thread always going with my pledge class sisters," she said. "It's the best way to stay involved in each other's lives even though we are spread across the country." "I have always said my favorite hobby is shopping, so it's crazy to me to think that I could turn this into my career," Brooke shared. In addition to shopping, she and Andrew have recently started doing a weekly date night, which has turned into one of her favorite things. Brooke also loves being around women who lift her up like the Chi Omegas, so she tries to attend a workout class at least once a week. Want to get the latest from The Broke Brooke?
