3 SIGMA CHI E psilon Kappa continues to take steps toward excellence. The Chapter sits at 37 members, while 16 seniors graduated this past spring. With formal recruitment ahead of us, we look forward to expanding that number with men who meet the standards of our fraternity. Over the past year, we have gone above and beyond to set strategic objectives and discuss ways to improve and develop our membership. One goal is to improve academic achievement; the Chapter was proud to achieve first in grades among all fraternities for the fall 2021 semester, with a Chapter GPA of 3.11. For the spring 2022 semester, we stayed consistent with a Chapter GPA of 3.10, ranking third among all fraternities. Our new members also ranked first in the fall and second in the spring among fraternities. Our brothers continue to represent us through campus leadership positions. Last year, three of our senior brothers served as executive VP, VP recruitment, and chief justice on the IFC Executive Board. This year, Hayden Barnett '24 serves as VP recruitment. We also have brothers representing us through the campus recruiting and admissions process: Raphael Jamias '25 as an Orientation Guide and True Blue Ambassador and Levi Latimer '25 as a True Blue Ambassador. In February, the Chapter partnered with Alpha Gamma Delta to host a Risk Management Workshop led by alumni Neal Oldham '99 and Jamie Russell '02. Throughout the presentation, the Chapter learned the legal implications and proper procedures in dealing with crisis situations and responsible alcohol consumption. It was a moving presentation, and we appreciate them taking their time to explain to us why it is so important to be safe and responsible if unfortunate situations arise. As the year continued, we had a very successful Derby Days led by Chairman Keyarash Hatamzadeh '22. With his leadership and the Chapter's effort, we were able to raise $45,000 for the Special Olympics of Greater Memphis. We are thankful for all the alumni support we received during our philanthropic fundraising, as our goal could not have been met without you all. It was a record-breaking number for our campus and a successful way to end the academic year; we hope to continue that momentum this school year. As many of you know, the COVID pandemic took away many aspects of the fraternity experience. We hope that our continued growth and new experiences allow us to bring back those aspects we have been missing out on. The Chapter has continued to practice what we preach, and we hope to achieve the success this Chapter sustained before the pandemic. We appreciate the continued support of the alumni Chapter, House Corporation, Chapter Advisor Tyler Ricossa '11, and many others who want to see our continued success in building future leaders and striving to uphold the standard of excellence that we expect of ourselves.
