THETA CHI PAGE 3 W hen we reflect on the events of the Spring 2022 semester, I am honored to say that Tau Chapter is thriving. In true Theta Chi fashion, brothers were extremely successful in all facets of collegiate life. EXTRACURRICULARS Tau Chapter has made its mark on campus when it comes to involvement, including the Executive Producer of Gator Growl, Jared Weingard '19; Student Government Productions Chairman Michael Higgins '20; IFC executive board members Sher Farooqi '19 and Jake Siegel '19; and Student Government Transition Cabinet Chairman Sazzad Mabud '20. We are also proud to welcome Jake Siegel '19, Aaron Lazar '19, and Zach Roher '19 into Florida Blue Key. BROTHERLY BONDING Socially, with the help of Vice President of Health and Safety Josh Clark '19, Tau Chapter held a plethora of fun and safe events during the Spring, including a formal trip to Nashville, a wine and whiskey tasting mixer event during Parents' Weekend, and a Theta Chi 1969 Woodstock- themed date function. Thanks to Executive Vice President Luke Holderman '20, we were able to secure a pairing with Delta Delta Delta for the upcoming Homecoming week. PHILANTHROPY Additionally, philanthropic efforts have proved extremely successful this year, as Tau Chapter—with the help of our administrative vice president, Sazzad Mabud '20—hosted the annual SandbOX beach volleyball tournament for USO as well as the second annual 501's Favorite Dream Girl Competition, which raised a combined $40,000 for charitable organizations. AWARDS All this work did not go unnoticed. This July, Tau was awarded both the Phil S. Randall Success in Recruitment Award and the Chapter Achievement Award at the 166th Anniversary Convention in Washington, D.C. Additionally, the Chapter was recognized for their support of USO, Theta Chi's National philanthropy. LOOKING TO THE FUTURE There is much to look forward to as we begin a new academic year. Vice President of Recruitment Kyler Johns '20 has worked extremely hard over the summer months to recruit some of the best and brightest into our Chapter, where Marshal Levi Downing '20 can guide these young men through the pledging process to shape them into Resolute Men. Our executive board has done a great job of planning for the future, including social events, Homecoming week, a road trip to Nashville, and philanthropy events. Additionally, thanks to our outstanding Alumni and Realty Board, brothers were thrilled to move into our newly renovated Chapter House this fall. THANK YOU, ALUMNI I want to properly thank our alumni for their unwavering dedication to Tau Chapter. We are so fortunate to have access to such a well- connected group of individuals who give so much back to our beloved Fraternity. It is because of you all that we are able to support our over 100-year-old legacy, and I am eternally thankful. We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our Homecoming game this year on October 8 as the Gators take on the Missouri Tigers. Go Gators!
