TAU CHAPTER OF THETA CHI FRATERNITY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA TAU TOPICS Fall 2022 GATOR FOOTBALL It's about that time of the year again! Another season of cheering on the Gators is underway, and we could not be more thrilled. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium will be packed with thousands of fans, and we hope our alumni make up a good amount of those in attendance. This year's football schedule favors home games, which is great news for alumni like you and me. Not only do we have an opportunity to visit our alma mater for a classic game of football, but we also have a chance to reconnect with brothers and meet new ones. We hope to see you there! RECRUITMENT Speaking of rekindling bonds with brothers and being introduced to new ones, recruitment season is around the corner. Recruitment is one of the many great aspects of the fraternal experience, and we are anticipating a wonderful turnout this year. Alumni involvement is key to maximizing this experience. Your knowledge is knowledge we trust! So, please send along any recommendations of young men at UF interested in getting involved on campus to Vice President of Recruitment Kyler Johns '20 at (954) 224-000X or kjohns921@gmail.com. Tau Chapter could be the perfect fit! Great things are ahead, brothers, and we look forward to celebrating together. Go Gators! Fall 2022 Executive Board Sharing the GIFT OF LIFE How Theta Chi Helps Michael Higgins '20 Do Good for Others Michael Higgins '20 knew he was destined for UF after his mother, a lifelong Gator fan, attended the university's law school. In addition to this legacy connection, Michael's college experience would involve more than he ever imagined. "My roommate and I both went to the same high school and were in the same boat thinking a fraternity might be cool, but that's not what we were going to do," Michael said. "We get there and meet a bunch of guys on our dorm floor, and the group of six or seven guys that were our core friends were all Theta Chis, aside from a couple in a different fraternity." Michael's exposure to fraternity life made him recognize his interest in Theta Chi, and he considers recruitment to be one of the best decisions he's made in college. He has made great memories on Gator game days, through Chapter meetings, and by helping at philanthropy events. Perhaps Michael's most profound Theta Chi experience has come through the Gift of Life program.
