Proud of Our Progress T H E B A S E M E N T P R OJ E C T I S C O M P L E T E W hen the new Tri Delta House was first built over 10 years ago, we as a House Corporation were understandably cautious. We did not want to overbuild, nor did we want to overspend. Being one of the first to rebuild on UA's campus was an incredible opportunity but also completely unchartered territory. In the years since, the Greek system has seen tremendous growth. Almost every sorority house has been either completely rebuilt from the ground up or remodeled extensively to accommodate more members. We began exploring how to best use our existing space more efficiently and what possible upgrades that might entail. After numerous conversations with members, advisors, and the university, we ultimately decided our unfinished basement was priority. It was in constant use for everything from study sessions to meetings to job interviews. Unfortunately, the basement renovation was slated for summer 2020. With the uncertainties created by COVID, House Corporation postponed the project to be good stewards looking into an unknown future. We can't wait for you to come see it! New tables for our basement were custom made for Delta Mu. The new doors in the basement add to a clean, renovated atmosphere. Our renovated basement is ready for plenty of Delta Mu gatherings! We encourage you to come take a tour of our new basement when you get a chance. Delta Delta Delta • University of alabama The Crescent The following fall, we began working with Ellis Architects through the university to conceptualize our new space and to gather pricing, timing, and availability of products. Kimberly Bean '80 and Trisha Dodson '79 spearheaded the project; they made selections with lighting, fabrication, and upgraded audio visual. The new basement would receive new flooring, millwork, doors, pendant lighting, banquette seating, AV updates (a 98" TV!), and storage along with custom-made tables to accommodate multi-use. We were also able to paint and restructure the mailroom, hook room, and upstairs guest bathrooms during this project. The results are truly breathtaking, and we would like to thank our generous donors again for their contributions to this project. It is light, modern, and perfectly appointed. We are so happy to see the completion of this project in time for recruitment and fall football. The next time you find yourself on campus, we would love to welcome you on a tour of the renovations. Delta Love, Paige Dowdy Albright '89 House Corporation President Fall 2022
