DEVELOPING THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW GOAL: RAISE $250,000 FOR SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENTS TO NURTURE LEADERSHIP AND SCHOLASTIC EXCELLENCE. CURRENT STATUS: We have established multiple scholarship funds at the Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation to give Chapter-specific scholarships to deserving Iowa Delta brothers. THE CHALLENGE: With our current operating budget, the scope of scholarships awarded can only go so far. With the help of our alumni, we will be able to positively impact the lives of brothers for years to come. OUR PLAN: Invest in endowments that will provide resources to expand the amount awarded in scholarships that fund leadership opportunities and alleviate the financial burden of our brothers. We believe scholarships will continue to set Iowa Delta apart from any fraternity at Drake and truly invest in the continued success of our membership. Assuming 4-5% returns, these endowments and scholarships could produce $10,000 to $12,500 each year and provide: • Funding for brothers to attend Carlson Leadership Academy and Ruck Leadership Institute. • Scholarships to lessen the financial burden for our Chapter members and ensure SigEp can be experienced by any worthy individual, regardless of external economic factors. • Funding to support the maintenance and updates of educational space within the SigEp house. According to U.S. News and World Report Over 70% of first-year students at Drake University receive need-based financial aid in the form of a grant or scholarship. 60% of Drake students rely on student loans to pay for their school. The graduating class of 2020 at Drake University had an average student loan debt of $32,016. "No SigEp brother should ever have money be a barrier between themselves and the opportunity for continued personal and professional development or a treasured SigEp experience with their brothers." -Mitchell Klocke '18 "These opportunities are pivotal to the continued success of Iowa Delta. The connections we make, the lessons we learn, and the experience we gain at these events shaped me, and will continue building balanced men for years to come." -Colin Rodine '22, Chapter President
