2A Daily News – Thursday, August 1, 2013 Community people&events Tri-County Sams report The Tri-County Sams Chapter of the Good Sam Club held its June Campout at the Hat Creek Rancheria with only five rigs represented as there were illnesses and vacations. The weather was beautiful and two mallard mothers with 10 ducklings each and a pair of geese with five goslings were the main entertainment. One member did fish in the pond and caught one nice rainbow trout. The RV park provided trays of appetizers for the group on Friday evening. Saturday morning they held their usual Meet and Greet with lots of sweet goodies. Saturday night was the barbecued chicken potluck with the Shasta Cascaders Good Sam Chapter joining the group for all the good food. After the Potluck, the bunch had a campfire with great conversations with good friends. The July Campout was held at Dance Country RV in McCloud with seven rigs in attendance. Wayne Barry of Orland was Trail Boss. The Volcano Car Run was held in downtown McCloud on Saturday with about 100 cars participating. Most of the group attended the street show on Saturday afternoon and had a good time and look forward to returning next year. The weather was great and Saturday night they had a barbecued rib potluck on tables outside the trailers and Trail Boss Barry set up a great layout to celebrate the 4th of July spirit. A short meeting was held later to discuss the new rules surrounding Good Sam future meetings, which will be discussed further at the August Campout. It was also discussed and voted on to have the Trail Boss of the month to establish the menu for their camput and to notify the attendees what to bring for the potluck. Vic and Darlene Dickison will be Trail Bosses for the August Campout to be held at Mt. LassenShingletown KOA with a steak barbecue potluck. Anyone owning a self-contained RV that would like to go on monthly campouts with a great small group of people are encouraged to call Wagon Master Lisa Sol at 385-1344 or President Richard Sol at 200-7403.
