STATUS OF PROJECTS The highest-priority Vision Ad Astra project is now complete. All the ductwork was cleaned, and a central air conditioning system was installed. Construction began in mid-March and was completed on April 26. The total cost of the air conditioning project was $45,900. To stretch the Vision Ad Astra dollars, a grant request to cover about a third of the cost was made to the Educational Foundation. The second-highest-priority project, remodeling the four showers on the second floor, began in early June. This project has an estimated cost of $21,800. In addition to projects funded by the capital campaign, several maintenance items were completed from the Chapter's operating budget. These maintenance activities included repairs to the two roof ventilators for the cold-air dorm, a new water softener, and a communicator upgrade to the fire system that features redundant connectivity to both cellular service and internet.
