in Fayetteville. He's added more and
has had different schools and people
come in and check it out. It's a place
for minds to just explore. And the
Fayetteville Chamber is a perfect venue
because one of the main things about
the MIT charter is that it be open to
the public. And helping the community
is a big part of Steve's mission at the
chamber."
Looking for ways to be involved in
the community is also important to Dr.
Jorgenson and her team at NWACC.
One of the Integrated Design Lab's
programs is their Design Weekends,
which were created as a way to engage
the public in a positive way.
"One of the things we've done is
family night," Dr. Jorgenson noted.
"We invite people come in to our
woodworking area and together they
make wooden welcome signs for their
front porches using our woodworking
tools."
