The clients purchased this 1965 mid-century modern
home that needed some major updates. They have two
small children, so the existing room-connecting secondary
bath was never going to work. Taking over a couple of
closets helped reconfigure and expand this space. Since
the clients love vintage, the midcentury modern theme
was maintained with the cabinetry, rounded wood mirrors
and hex tile floors. Bright colors were incorporated
through the wallpaper and matching custom tile in the
shower niche. This bath is now whimsically perfect for
them!

The challenge was to design a cohesive
plan for a larger screened porch with grilling
area and entertainment space around the
current stone fireplace and the existing
octagonal porch. Also required was fitting the
aesthetics of the home and the client's
personal style while maximizing the lake views.
The client's wishes were met with a larger,
more functional screen porch with an amazing
grilling kitchen and plenty of room for
entertaining. A previously abandoned area of
the terrace level was also utilized to create an
entertainment space that this family will enjoy
for years to come.
