Rogers Explorers is a program for children ages 6-12 that allows them to explore their community by visiting different locations which offer hands-on learning, adventure, and activities. Pre-registration is required. $5.00 sign-up per each child per session. Registration is only required for children, but parents/guardians are asked to stay with their children. Hobbs state Park and conservation area | July 8, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Explore the park and learn about the Van Winkle family and the mill they operated, then tour the Visitor's Center. Rogers Historical Museum collections | July 22, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Tour the Eversole Building, which houses the museum's collections, and learn how the museum works behind the scenes. FREE admission - 30-minute reservations required apple slime | July 12, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Apples and apple products, such as apple cider vinegar, once played a big part in our local economy. Learn more about the history of the sweet to sour apple industry in Benton County and then make some fun apple slime. Open to kids of all ages. tie Dyeing | July 26, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Dyeing cloth is a craft that has been practiced for thousands of years. Ingredients found in nature, such as berries, plants and soil were sourced to create different color dyes. Learn how this art was used by Native Americans and early settlers in Northwest Arkansas to dye cloth. Create your own dyed cloth using a tie dye technique. Open to kids of all ages.
