With it comes the opportunity to share wonderful memories and experiences and to enjoy moments that will be cherished forever. This bond is even stronger for Lisa Schulte '91 and Juliette Schulte '20, who are not only mother and daughter, but also Tri Delta sisters. "I thought it was special when Julie e decided to go to KU. It's even more special having my daughter as my Tri Delta sister. I love to hear what she's doing because I know it's bringing her joy—and it's reminding me of so many good mes." –Lisa Lisa knew she belonged at Tri Delta because she felt like she could be herself. The girls were friendly and down-to- earth, and she fondly recalls some of her favorite moments with her sisters. One of her best memories was recruitment. "It was very hot in August, and the Chapter House didn't have air conditioning upstairs where the bedrooms are located; so, we would all bring our comforters and sleep in the living room," she shared. "It was one big slumber party!" Another special part of Lisa's Theta Omega experience was living in Big 8, where she spent late nights chatting and becoming closer with her roommates. With such strong friendships, Lisa remains close with many of her sisters today. "We stayed close through all the important stages of our lives: first real jobs, first homes, marriages, children being born, loss of parents, and sending our own kids off to college," she said. "We travel together every other year and have regular Zoom calls so we can stay in touch." As someone who takes prides in being independent, when it became time for Juliette to join a sorority, she wasn't sure if she wanted to join the same organization as her mother; however, it soon became clear that Theta Omega was the place for her. Ever since her grandmother passed away from cancer, the St. Jude philanthropy was special to Juliette, and because of this, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in the medical field and help cancer patients. The friendships Juliette has made are another reason why Tri Delta is meant for her. She saw how close her mother had become with her Theta Omega sisters and did not think it was possible for her, but now, some of her best friends are her sorority sisters. (Plus, she lives in the same Big 8 room!) "The sisterhood I experience in Theta Omega Chapter makes me feel at home all the time," Juliette shared. "My sisters are truly my best friends and are always there for me when I am stressed, in dire need of ice cream or to go out and make the best memories with." "While I did not predict that I would end up in the same sorority as my mom, I am so happy this is where I ended up. I can't wait for all the memories that I will con nue to make with my best friends for the rest of my me here at Tri Delta!" –Julie e Juliette has loved her time in Tri Delta so far, and she is happy to be involved in the sisterhood. One of her favorite memories was this year's Beverly Hills-themed Bid Day. She loved dressing up, taking pictures and welcoming amazing new sisters. This year, Juliette was appointed vice president of membership experience and has loved her role so far. "I loved recruitment last year, so I am so honored that I get to help train the freshmen to recruit their future littles for next year," she said. "My goal in my position is to keep people excited and engaged to be a Tri Delta all throughout the year and for everyone to feel at home." While Lisa and Juliette have each had a unique Tri Delta experience, the sisterhood has strengthened their bond. "My mom and I are very close; she loves hearing about what things are going on in my life because she misses her college days so much," Juliette shared. "It's been fun to compare how the house is different in so many ways but also the same great place to make lifelong friends and memories," Lisa said. The mother and daughter continue to make Tri Delta memories together, and Mom's Weekend was extra special. "When I was in seventh grade, my family and I went to Kansas City," Juliette said. "We decided to do a quick drive through Lawrence, where we took a picture in front of the Tri Delta house together. Little did I know that, during my freshman year, we would be taking another picture on the porch together—but this time for Mom's Weekend!"
