Now in its fifth year, Financial Friday answers questions and provides information to viewers on matters that could impact their financial lives. Discussions include money management, online banking safety, money-saving tips, recent money scams, and ways to improve your credit score. e Financial Friday segments won a regional media relations award in 2021 from the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF). SPRF is a network of public relations professionals from Alabama, North Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Redstone is thrilled to continue its partnership with WAFF- 48, said Patricia Lloyd, public relations coordinator at Redstone. "ese segments bring Redstone's subject matter experts to the forefront to share their knowledge and experience with the viewers. Knowledge is power, especially when working to build a strong financial foundation, and we are proud to be a part of that," Lloyd said. e segments are hosted and produced by WAFF-48 anchor Haley Baker. The Storm Shelter Act, a bill introduced by former Alabama Congressman Doug Jones, is finally making its way to Alabama. e bill eases the financial burden of installing a storm shelter by providing a tax credit. Taxpayers Do You Qualify for a Storm Shelter Tax Credit? may receive a $3,000 credit per household, or 50% of the total cost of the construction, acquisition, and installation of the qualified storm shelter – whichever is less.
