NOTES FROM MIZ KΔ PAGE 3 T his semester has been a busy and exciting time for Epsilon Iota, as we are fully back into the swing of things. To kick the semester off strong, we initiated an incredible spring class of 17 new members in March! For many of us, this is the first "normal" spring semester we've had. That means experiencing new events organized by the chapter and university, such as a fully in-person Greek Week, sisterhood retreats, new philanthropy opportunities, and social events! In March, our VP of events and programming, Sydney Hilker '20, and director of philanthropy and community service, Maddie Fels '20, hosted an incredible Shamrock Week. All week long, we had booths in our front yard where we handed out KIND bars, buttons and, most excitingly, Girl Scout cookies. We also had several profit shares with local businesses and a late-night dinner, Kappadillas! Through each of these events and overwhelming support, we raised about $11,700 to help fund and bring awareness to PCAA and Rainbow House. Through February and March, we partnered with our local Girl Scouts troops to host cookie booths on our front lawn each week. (It is safe to say that college students love Girl Scout cookies!) In early May, we will invite Girl Scouts to come to the house to participate in several activities, eat dinner with us, and go on tours of Mizzou to help inspire them for their futures! This semester, we competed in the first in-person Greek Week in three years. Our chapter was paired with the men of FarmHouse and Alpha Gamma Sigma, and we worked together to give it our all, walking away with a second-place win! It was exciting not only to experience Greek Week for the first time, but also to see all our hard work and dedication to service events, the blood drive, and sports competitions pay off! Currently, Epsilon Iota is very well represented in the PHA community! Sydnie Kaufmann '19 is on the PHA executive board, serving as VP of philanthropy and service. Along with her, we have one member on the Junior Panhellenic Board, two members on the service board, two members on the accessibility team, and six members serving as Panhellenic counselors for the upcoming formal recruitment. We also have new EI representation working for National Headquarters! Alyssa Hahn '18 recently earned the position of leadership development consultant. Alyssa will be working out of Austin, Texas, helping chapters build sisterhood and encouraging leadership development and inclusion efforts. The past few years have been challenging, but I truly believe it brought us closer together and we have been able to come out of those hardships stronger than ever! We are grateful to all our seniors who have given so much to our chapter through thick and thin. We wish them all the best as they graduate and continue to find jobs and start in their respective fields. We are also incredibly grateful to all our alumnae for continuously showing us immense support. We look forward to more opportunities to welcome everyone back to the house and connect with each other!
