THE ROAD TO SUCCESS NICK IAROSSI '95 VALUES THE START THAT HELPED HIM GET TO THE FINISH LINE F raternities encompass brotherhood, leadership, and opportunities. At ATΩ, Nick Iarossi '95 found all these and more, which paved a road of experiences, friendships, and accomplishments. "While I was a freshman living at Sally Hall with my suitemates, I saw them go through recruitment and pledge with ATΩ," Nick began. Seeing firsthand how thrilled Alex Entrekin '94 and Pete MacLean III '94 were to pledge with ATΩ, Nick followed suit that following spring. Nick immediately discovered ATΩ resembled a community, and there was never a lack of memories to be made. While he was learning skills in leadership positions, such as treasurer, or creating memories, such as the Unga Gunga Balunga event with Tri Delta ("My favorite!"), Nick knew these experiences would be here to stay: "I'll never forget being carried from the ATΩ house to the Tri Delta house on a throne," he reminisced. Most significantly, however, Nick found friends that would inspire him, encourage him, and root for him. "Building lasting friendships and meeting people I would never have met if it weren't for the fraternity was very important to me," Nick explained. Because of the brothers who always cheered on Nick's pursuits, he decided to get involved in student government as FSU. "My involvement in ATΩ was a catalyst to other student leadership positions, such as being nominated as student body president in 1997," Nick stated. "Looking back, my entire career as a lobbyist started in ATΩ—if it weren't for the fraternity, then I wouldn't have gotten involved in student government, and I'm thankful for that." In addition to working as a lobbyist, Nick follows his passion as a racecar driver. Between his admiration of cars and his experience karting outside Tallahassee at Monticello Karting Track, Nick was offered an opportunity to take his hobby to the next level. "About eight years ago, some friends that owned a racing team convinced me to take the course to get a racing license and race with them," Nick shared. "My first event was a 14- hour endurance race at Virginia International Raceway, and I was hooked." Since that day in 2014, Nick has raced in Spec Miata and participated in Super Touring Light at the Sports Car Club of America. "More recently, I have done endurance races in an Audi and BMW in the World Racing League," Nick added. "I also took third place in my first Porsche Sprint Challenge at Sebring International Raceway in 2022. Looking ahead, Nick plans to do a full season in the Porsche Sprint Challenge in a GT4 Clubsport. "Racing is my outlet. Although it can be mentally and physically demanding, it's the only time I can truly disconnect from my work as a lobbyist." Knowing the impact of having lifelong friends and the importance of community, Nick stays connected with fraternity brothers and continues to make friends on every road he finds himself on. "Don't lose touch with the people that cheered you on; spend time developing those friendships and don't let them lapse." Want to learn more about Nick's winding road?
