DELTA CHI NEWS Delta Tau Delta, Oklahoma State University P.O. Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested T here is something special about being a part of a fraternity—having many other brothers to lean on, experiencing unique opportunities that one may not have otherwise, and learning life lessons are just a few. Shae Roggendorff '92 is grateful for his Delta Tau Delta experience and the skills it taught him. "Outside of making lifetime friends, living in a house with 100 other men allowed me to learn a tremendous amount about people in general," Shae said. "My self-image and confidence grew during my tenure." The life lessons that Delta Chi brought Shae have continued throughout his career. The fraternity not only taught him about patience, but also the ability to see the bigger picture, and it has been useful in his job as the president of Additive Systems Inc. Shae's father started the business in 1984 in their shop located in their backyard. Shae shares that he was fortunate to work with his father for 21 years prior to becoming president in 2015. He has had a rewarding, humbling, and challenging experience. Shae fondly looks back at his time as an undergraduate and how Delt impacted his life. "I didn't know about college life, much less Greek life. After I met with the recruiters, I felt it was something I needed to try." He took no time to begin immersing himself into the Greek world, and his strongest memories of his Delt experience include going on trips with his brothers. Some of his favorites include a spring break road trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a ski trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and attending Mardi Gras with one of his brothers. Along with the trips, Shae also appreciated the education opportunities during weekday lunches and dinners. He also enjoyed playing intramural soccer all four years. With these powerful memories, Shae hopes that future Delts will have a similar experience. He has enjoyed being more actively involved with Delt Tau Delta in the past five years and is happy that he was fortunate enough to be able to donate to the new Shelter. Shae met his wife Stacey Seck, a Kappa Delta, on a blind date his senior year, and they will soon be celebrating 29 years of marriage! Their daughter, Reilly, is a sophomore Kappa Delta at OSU. Shae shares that Bill Tener '93 was best man in their wedding and is Reilly's godfather. In his free time, Shae enjoys woodworking, skiing, golfing, diving, soccer, disc golf, and watching OSU sports. You can connect with Shae at sroggendorff@additivesystems.com.
