TAU TALK ALPHA TAU OMEGA AT IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY SPRING 2022 Brothers hosting their moms at our annual Mom's Weekend. Our Iowa Special Athletes dinner hosting Brian and Danielle, both of whom will be competing in the upcoming Special Olympics. Helping us welcome our guest were Delta Zeta and Alpha Sigma Kappa in preparation for Greek Week this spring. IFC President Jack Daus '23, IFC Vice President of Risk Prevention Mark Rapp '23, Ben Sloan '23, and Tommy Ugalde '23 attending the inaugural ACCESS Cheers for Hope event. ACCESS provides support for survivors of abuse and people in housing crisis. W e have had an exciting semester and a half since college life returned to (mostly) normal at Iowa State University. This spring, we have been continuing our chapter's success by staying involved within the community. We dearly missed the opportunity to hold full- capacity events, and we are thrilled to have them back. Last semester, we achieved a chapter GPA of 3.17. This put us eighth overall among fraternities on campus. Philanthropy Chairman Jacob Brown '19 organized our second ATΩ Drive-in. We sold 75 tickets and showed the movie Monsters University. We were able to raise upward of $2,000, which was donated to ACCESS, an assault care center in Ames. We also paired up with Sigma Kappa and Pi Kappa Phi for Homecoming. Through hard work and dedication, we placed third overall. In the Homecoming Yell Like Hell competition, we proudly claimed first place! This semester, Philanthropy Chairman Jordan Seifriz '21 is planning our third annual Cones and Bones event. Members will bring their dogs, and we will serve ice cream and snow cones. All proceeds will be donated to the Puppy Jake Foundation, an organization that helps veterans with service dogs. We have seven new members joining us this spring. Recruitment Chairmen Ben Allemen '21 and Danny Brazhnikov '20 are busy preparing for the upcoming summer recruitment. On March 5, we hosted Mom's Day with a basket raffle, raising just under $5,000. All money was donated to ACCESS. Gamma Upsilon wants to thank everyone for their efforts and support to help raise this money. We are excited for our upcoming events this spring semester! Gamma Upsilon is ready to carry our success from Homecoming over to Greek Week. Our door is always open, so feel free to stop by and see what all of us are up to around our chapter.
