A SISTERHOOD IN NEED OF SPACE
In 2020, the Alpha Delta House Corporation realized that, to
accommodate our growing sisterhood, we had to pursue a major
renovation and addition. Our Chapter House was bursting at the
seams, and we acted to ensure that our young women have space to
meet, eat, and spend time together as one community. We moved
forward and partnered with Edye M. Conkerton, a local Oxford
architect, on plans to meet the needs of our sisterhood.
COMPETITION AT AN ALL-TIME HIGH
While Alpha Delta was one of the first groups to conduct a major
renovation and campaign in the late 2000s, the sorority community
has responded to increased chapter sizes and competition with major
reconstructions and renovations. Almost every chapter has increased
its space for live-in membership to gather, study, and dine. We knew
we could not wait to expand our home; if we did not act in tandem
with our peers, we would lose out on potential new members due to
our facility.
