12 www.DesertMessenger.com March 16, 2022 The Salvation Army happenings What an amazing community we live in! Thanks Covenant Lutheran Church for the beautiful, donated quilts. Thank you to a couple who asked to be anonymous, that purchased many full-size toiletries for our out- reach client needs. They asked what we needed and so enjoyed going shopping for us. Heartfelt thanks for both donations. Remember that all our donations come from our community. Cur- rently, we do not have a volunteer to pick up larger items. Anyone with a strong back and a truck or fl atbed trailer, stop in and see me. Thanks. Our Buck Conners Western At- tire rack has many cool outfi ts and accessories for this weekend's fun events at the park! We do get amazing items. Looking for a vintage Mangle rotary ironer? We have one in great working con- dition. We have many standard walkers and seated walkers, a rath- er large collection of vintage Arizo- na Highway magazines, an unusual Harvey's seatbelt handbag, many vintage LP records, 2 metal rotating card racks for sale, too. March 2nd was our Worker's Wacky Wednesday. (See photo) We all need a little silliness and fun to get through these diffi cult times. Kiddos St. Patrick's coloring event entries are due Thursday, March 17th. Prizes for all. Many children came in for Dr. Suess's birthday on March 2nd and got a free book, too. Remember to follow us on Facebook to see special sales and upcoming events. Thanks for the several recent 5-star ratings on our Google Business page. We appreciate the kind words. We will have a Fundraiser for the First Responders Memorial Column Plaques at Celia's Rainbow Gardens. We will use the beautiful quilts and maybe some other items, too. Come see our display. Thanks for your monetary donations to honor of our community heroes. "The only thing that will make you happy is being happy with who you are." G. Hawn Be Happy!
