Q'ers are the BEST !!!
"Meet in Q"
is a group of mostly snowbirds who
spend every winter in Quartzsite.
Commencing last winter, we decid-
ed that we should try to do some-
thing for the community that we
call home for up to 6 months during
the year and selected the Quartzsite
Food Bank.
Last year we raised a modest $1300
but this year we exceeded $5,000
which according to Lois, the presi-
dent, is the largest private donation
that the bank has ever received.
Donations were primarily gener-
ated by the sale of caps, fl ags and
pennants and through the raffl e of
a spectacular quilts made and do-
nated by Meet in Q member Joyce
Wilson and Max Dollarhite.
Many Q'ers generously helped out
manning booths over the season
and otherwise helped but I'd like to
mention Q'er Jacqueline Ahmann
who worked tirelessly every town
event and every Meet in Q event.
Last but certainly not least, were
the efforts of local merchants:
Joanne Bess, The Pink Pig, Glen
Gruber, Discount Food Liquidators,
Elinore Varady, 4 Winds Healing
Jeremiah, The Sign Shop (all ven-
dors at Tyson Wells)
