TAU CHAPTER OF THETA CHI FRATERNITY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA TAU TOPICS Spring 2022 2021 went exceptionally well despite the unprecedented obstacles that Tau Chapter persistently overcame. Prioritizing academics, enhancing our legacy of campus involvement, and deliberating Chapter projects were some of the objectives that we focused on throughout the year. We continued to excel in campus leadership positions with brothers in Florida Blue Key, Gator Growl, IFC executive positions, SGP, student senate, SG cabinet, and the UF Cicerones. While navigating COVID-19 and university guidelines, we were able to successfully host Homecoming week with Delta Gamma sorority, travel to New Orleans for the biannual UF vs. LSU game, initiate 36 brothers into the Fall 2021 class, and raise nearly $3,000 for the USO through our Late- Night Chicken and Waffles philanthropy event. All of this work did not go unnoticed. Last August, Tau Chapter was awarded both the Phil S. Randall Success in Recruitment Award and the Sidney Ann Gilpin Lewis Memorial Trophy at the Justify Theta Chi Conference in Lexington, Kentucky. Additionally, due to our dedication to community service, the Special Olympics College Club at the University of Florida presented us with the Special Olympics Appreciation Award. There is plenty to look forward to now that we have returned to campus for the Spring 2022 semester: We have a very active calendar Spring recruitment resulted in 12 potential new members, which completed a goal set by VP of Recruitment Kyler Johns '20; and the buzz in the air with new football coach Bill Napier. Lastly, I want to thank the alumni of Tau Chapter for their unwavering support over the years. Tau's ability to prosper at the University of Florida, in the Gainesville community, and across the nation is because of the loyal alumni who constantly encourage and inspire us. We look forward to the new year now that Tau Chapter has weathered the brunt of the storm. If you're ever in town, please stop by the Chapter House for a visit.
